Where are you located?

Bend, Oregon.

How long have you been in business?

We've been in Central Oregon for 8 years.

Are you licensed and bonded?

Yes.  Our CCB# is 217160.

What areas do you service?

We service Bend, Eagle Crest, Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver and Tumalo regularly. We try to stay within 30 minutes of Bend, but will travel to Crooked River, LaPine, Powell Butte, Prineville and Terrebonne for an additional fuel charge.

How do I get an estimate?

Call or email for an appointment to review your project.

Do I have to have a completed plan before I call you for an estimate or can you help me layout my project?

No, we can work on a plan together.

How long does it take to get the estimate?

We try to have an initial estimate to you within 3 business days. This timeline depends on our current work schedule and the pricing of available materials to complete the job. Estimates are only good for 30 days.

Is there a required deposit to begin work?

Yes. We require a payment of 50% of the contracted amount within 10 days of signing the contract. The remaining balance, including any adjusted pricing for materials and labor, will be due at the time of project completion.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes. The Approval of Terms and Contract will be sent for signature once all parties agree on the estimates and work to be completed. Signing this document will determine time on the schedule. The contract will also include all the paperwork and disclosures related to the Oregon CCB required contract documents for residential remodels.

Can the contract financial figures change after the work begins?

Yes, there is a possibility to have changes or updates to the amount due upon completion of the job.  These changes may include changes requested by the customer, adjusted pricing for materials, additional labor or fuel charges, and will be communicated with the customer prior to updating the final invoice. Adjustments will not be made without the customer's approval and a change order signed.

How long after the estimate and contract is agreed upon will the work begin?

The job will be determined dependent on the availability within our work schedule, type of work needed, customer's timeline, schedule of subcontractors and availability of materials.

Can I schedule my job to be completed while I am away?

Yes.  We often work in homes while people are vacationing or in the customer's second home.

What is the refund policy if I change my mind after signing the contract?

The customer will be provided a timeline to cancel the contract dependent on the timing of the job schedule.  If the customer cancels the contract within 15 days of the original deposit, a full refund will be returned to the customer.  If the cancellation occurs after 15 days, 25% will be returned to the customer and 25% will be kept by Central Oregon Wood 'N Stoneworks, LLC for missed work opportunities.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. We provide a 1-year warranty on the work performed by us only. All work completed by subcontractors will be the responsibility of the subcontractor, themselves.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Not at this time.

Do you have a list of additional subcontractors for other services necessary for my remodel?

Yes. I have a trusted electrician, plumber and custom sheetrock person I have used many times in the past.

Do you manage the whole remodel project including other subcontractors or should I find someone else to do that?

We can manage the project with the subcontractors we have in place, if needed.

Do you work by the hour?

Hourly rates are dependent upon the job and are typically related to maintenance or creative projects.  All other work is charged a comparable going rate for the type of work completed.

Do you supply the materials like tile, flooring, trim, etc?

No.  We do not supply the finished materials.  The customer will need to purchase those from a recommended local company or reimburse us if we need to purchase a particular product.  We DO supply materials for preparation of the project if necessary.  All materials included will be shown on the estimate/contract upon signing as well as a material list for the customer to purchase.

Do you mark-up the materials you add in to the estimates?

To be transparent, yes.  We may mark-up additional supplies for the customer's job if they are specialty items ordered on behalf of the customer to pay for shipping, transportation or additional overhead.  This is usually no more than 15%.

Do you install materials purchased by the customer?

Yes.  If the materials are in new condition and can be installed without issue, a customer's materials can be used.

Can you match my existing Solid wood, engineered or laminate flooring?

It depends if supplies are available or if there are any coloring matching issues.  Existing engineered and laminate flooring cannot be refinished, therefore the new flooring would need to be a close color match to provide a cohesive look.  I do not work with solid hardwoods.

Do you refinish or refurbish wood floors?

No. We do not refinish or refurbish any type of flooring.

What's the difference between solid hardwood, engineered hardwood and laminate flooring?

Solid hardwood is made from a solid 3/4" piece of wood.  Engineered hardwood is made with an underside of plywood and a thin veneer of hardwood on the top.  Laminated wood is made with an underside pressed sawdust and a laminated type of material on the top.

Do you paint?

No.  We have a contact for a painter.

Will there be a big mess in my house while my job is being completed?

We try our best to keep the mess at a minimum and each night we clean up our tools and equipment for safety purposes.

Can you build something for me like a bookshelf, table, end table, bathroom mirror or vanity shelving?

Yes.  We are woodworkers as well as remodelers.  We will consult with you on any type of home decor or select piece of furniture you have in mind.  We specialize in all hard woods and all types of tile mosaics, hand-cut to order and design.

Do you sell your hand-crafted furniture on Etsy or any other online channel?

Currently, we do not have anything up for sale as remodel work has us very busy.  When time allows, we occasionally will post things on our social channels.

Do you have social media channels?

We do!  But, we aren't very good about updating them.  You can find us on Facebook and Instagram.

How many people work for Central Oregon Wood 'n Stoneworks?

One General Contractor and his secretary (wife).

Do you have employment opportunities?

At the present time, we are a small family-business.  But, it never hurts to reach out and share your expertise to see if we can add you to our team!
